What. A. Place.
In all my 42 years, I can't quite see why it's taken me this long to make the trip North up to Cumbria, but a week in Keswick might just have made it leap into my top 5 places in the UK.
If nothing else (apart from the scenery, people and things to see) from a photographer's POV I spent a good part of a week with the A7RII stuck to my face going 'Wow'. Around every corner was an amazing view which blew you away. Can you get my general state of impressed-ness?
Keswick itself was a lovely little town and a great base to explore. The fact we had a decent chip and shop 2 minutes walk from us helped and if we needed emergency walking boots (this did happen) then the 500+ branches of Mountain Warehouse, Blacks etc were always on hand - or foot.
One of my happy moments was realising that Derwentwater (included in the images below) was used as a location for The Force Awakens. #geek
Top tip if you're going: make sure you're a National Trust member. You'll save a fortune.
